This directory lists playgrounds that have inclusive and accessible features. Yes, we would all love to have the perfect inclusive playground in our neighborhood. But we know that is not reality. Here you can find the best of the best as well as playgrounds that have added accessible swing seats or other accessible feature.

We know that it is difficult to push a wheelchair through wood mulch (EWF) and we have done our best to let you know about the surfacing.

In the BIO section, you will find a description of the playground. In the NOTES section, you will find information about the park the playground resides.

All of the playgrounds (at the time of publication) are open to the public. Any of the playgrounds located at schools, you can assume are open afterschool and on weekends. You may want to call the school to check on the opening times.

We have done our best to give as much information as we can find to describe the playgrounds. But we cannot visit all of these playgrounds, so please let us know what we are missing by submitting the park using the button below.

This multi-use park boasts amenities to suit a variety of recreational interests including a fantastic playground, a rentable shelter, an entertaining amphitheater, a Firefighter’s Memorial, athletic fields, sand volleyball courts, basketball courts, restrooms, and a skatepark, all surrounded by a paved hike/bike trail.Beech Acres Park is also the site for some of the ATPD’s most popular events such as Summer Concerts in the Park, A Fair of the Arts, and the Run to Remember. Biography he Anderson Township Park District has created a playground at Beech Acres Park where all children, with and without disabilities, can play and learn together in a healthy recreational environment. This inclusive playground inspires both active and imaginative play. It has proven to be a hit with children of all ages and abilities since the playground’s grand opening in 2007. For children ages 0-5, there is a Tot-lot complete with a train and train station. There are swings, a sand play area, and a playhouse. There is also a mini-mountain, and an arched bridge with walking paths and shaded pergolas. Tying the river and village themes together is a unique surfacing. For children ages 2-5 there is a unit featuring slides with a rock climbing component and a bridge. There are also bongos to enjoy making music with. For older children there are Sasquatch-tall climbing boulders and a massive fort-like play unit. For everyone, regardless of age, there is a riverboat Shelter, a seasonal water play area, and a Sway® Fun.

Notes 8682 and 8630 Beckett Road, West Chester, OH 45069 A 150-acre property in the Union Centre area, Beckett Park is situated both to the east and west of Beckett Road at the foot of Beckett Ridge. Amenities: paved and natural walking trails; boundless playground accessible to children of all abilities; fishing ponds open to free catch-and-release fishing; picnic shelter with fireplace; and natural ice skating rink. Biography Opened in 2010. The Boundless Playground features a custom themed Barn Roof over the main elevated play area. The site also includes a Hay Wagon themed playstructure complete with Horse’s pulling it along. The surfacing is a combination of wood mulch (EWF) and pour-in-place rubber.

Biography Carriage Place Park Playground was built by volunteers in a day in September 2009. This 13 acre park also features a picnic area, a recreation center, and a trail. The surfacing is a combination of pour-in-place rubber and wood mulch (EWF) which may make it more difficult for a person using a wheelchair to maneuver.

Notes Park Features: A “Boundless Playground”–swings, music area, sand and water play Splash Pad Shelters Baseball Basketball Paved Walking Trail Skate Park Biography In September of 2009, a 10,000 square foot playground was assembled at the park in one day by volunteers from CVS Pharmacy. The playground was built with a $225,000 grant from CVS Caremark/All Kids Can and Boundless Playgrounds. The playground is fully accessible to people of all abilities and features a poured rubber surface making for easy maneuvering. The playground has ADA wide ramps, a variety of play equipment, swings with zero-G seats, tot seats and open seats, many climbing features, music play area, a sandlot with backhoes (one accessible), sand and water tables and other fun features, plus many swinging benches and covered tables to watch your kids play! The sprayground at Clippard Park will be open Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend from 11 AM – 7 PM daily. It features a variety of motion activated features for all to enjoy plus a nice shaded picnic table for those who prefer to stay dry. Clippard Park has a paved walking trail that is 1/2 a mile long. A natural trail winds through the woods behind Shelter C adding another 1/4 mile. Park Access Springdale Road to north on Season Drive. Turn left on Pottinger Road and another Left on Dewhill Lane to the Park Entrance. Colerain Avenue to east on Redskin Drive (in between Outback Steakhouse and Frisch’s back entrance/exit). Turn left on Fairglen Drive. Fairglen dead-ends at the side entrance of Clippard Park. Visiting from out of the Area: If you are visiting the park from outside of Colerain Township and are not familiar with the area, take the Colerain Avenue exit off of I-275 and go south on Colerain Avenue and continue with the directions above. Biography A family use park on the east side of Yankee Road, north of Millikin Road. These 11.4 acres feature 7.5 acres of natural, mulched and bridged hiking trails in the woods around a recently cleaned (3,400 sq. ft.) pond. A large mowed lawn is perfect for kite flying and Frisbee tossing. Don’t miss the boundless playground – the entire playground area is handicap accessible providing a setting where children and adults of all ages and abilities can play and learn together in a fun and welcoming environment. Other amenities include a handicapped accessible drinking fountain, permanent charcoal grills, bluebird and wood duck boxes. Enjoy the shelter, picnic tables, wooded hiking trails, and a large mowed lawn. Surfacing maybe mostly wood mulch (EWF) making it more difficult for a person using a wheelchair to maneuver.

Notes Liberty Park offers four tennis courts, two handball courts, two basketball courts, five sand volleyball courts, two horseshoe pits, three large children’s play areas, and two miles of walking trails. There are a total of four shelter houses in Liberty Park that would make a beautiful and fun spot to hold your upcoming graduation parties and family get gatherings. Biography The playground has a popular rolling slide, a Sway Fun glider, sand area and lots of flowers planted along the perimeter. The play area is currently the Hamilton County Park District’s most universally accessible playground! The new play structure features a variety of elements, including: A rubber safety surface that allows access to all areas of the playground for users of all abilities. Multiple wide ramps for access with mobility devices. A “Power Scape” area of play that encourages physical fitness and coordination. Biography Playground which opened in 2014 includes: Water Play Area Wheelchair platform swings Sand Pit Accessible fishing dock Village: A village of four tent structures provides unique experiences for children to explore. Each structure houses a different children’s activity. Living Willow Hut– This hut is open on both ends to allow easy walkthrough. Children in wheelchairs are able to access the hut on a trail. Rock Pile–Children can climb a small rock pile to simulate rock climbing. The pile is a gradual incline. Hill Slide Sled Hill Stage Tree House–The playground has its very own tree house with different levels easily accessible by ramps. Bamboo Maze–Get lost in a maze of bamboo during the summer months. Each year, the design will change. Playground Hours Monday – Saturday 10am – 8pm Sunday Noon – 8pm The playground has a daily admission fee.
