This directory lists playgrounds that have inclusive and accessible features. Yes, we would all love to have the perfect inclusive playground in our neighborhood. But we know that is not reality. Here you can find the best of the best as well as playgrounds that have added accessible swing seats or other accessible feature.

We know that it is difficult to push a wheelchair through wood mulch (EWF) and we have done our best to let you know about the surfacing.

In the BIO section, you will find a description of the playground. In the NOTES section, you will find information about the park the playground resides.

All of the playgrounds (at the time of publication) are open to the public. Any of the playgrounds located at schools, you can assume are open afterschool and on weekends. You may want to call the school to check on the opening times.

We have done our best to give as much information as we can find to describe the playgrounds. But we cannot visit all of these playgrounds, so please let us know what we are missing by submitting the park using the button below.

Notes Wild Horse Park is a 158 acre park that includes walking/biking trails, two playgrounds, a pond, three small pavilions, one large pavilion, six field baseball complex, five field softball complex, dog park, soccer complex, and aquatic facility. Also located in Wild Horse Park is Mustang Town Center which house the library, recreation center, senior center, and banquet facilities. For more information contact the Mustang Parks and Recreation Department at (405) 376-3411. Wild Horse Park is open from 4am until 11pm daily. Biography Brittany’s Play adventure at Wild Horse Park was an idea inspired by a young woman named Brittany Grider, a resident at the center of Family Love in Okarche, whose family resides in Mustang. Her family and friends are building this playground in her honor.

Biography The school has a fully universally accessible playground with pour-in-place surfacing and adapted swings thanks to a grant from the Lowe’s Charitable and Educational Foundation. A Braille map of the play area also will be provided for children with vision challenges.

Biography This project touched the hearts of many, as public, private, and faith-based organizations from Choctaw as well as surrounding communities came together to make the initial phases a reality. Phase I of this $610,000 playground/park was constructed by a community of 300 volunteers in October 2004. This phase provided a school aged structure with a variety of slides, climbers, monkey bars, panels, bridges, spinners and a space net climber. Phase II was completed in September 2006, adding two banks of swings, a basketball court, sidewalks and sod, resurfacing the concrete play area with asphalt, and addressing drainage issues. Phase III was completed in October, 2009 adding a Sway Fun and EVOS climbing structure which are Landscape Structures‘ equipment.
